BERGOO, W.Va. — Webster County authorities have released the names of the man and woman killed in a UTV crash Saturday night near Bergoo.
Deputies said Richard Chandler, 43, of Hurricane, and Maggie Driggs, 24, of Charleston, died in the crash. A third person was injured in the wreck but was treated and released.
All three were ejected from the side-by-side when it went 75-feet over an embankment near 6989 Bergoo Road.
The wreck was reported at just before 7:30 p.m. Chandler and Driggs died at the scene, authorities said.
The annual Burgoo Bash took place over the weekend.
“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident remains ongoing,” a news release from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office said. “No additional information regarding the cause of the crash is being released at this time.”
