Victim identified in fatal Taylor County crash, one driver arrested

BOOTHSVILLE, W.Va. — State police have identified the victim in a fatal weekend crash in Taylor County and say a driver has been charged with leaving the scene.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash in the 1100 block of Middletown Road just after 7 p.m. Saturday.

The crash fatally injured Rebekah Wilson and troopers allege Gregory Scott Burrows, 53, of Shinnston, fled the scene before police arrived.

Burrows and Watson were in different vehicles that collided head-on, according to troopers.

Two witnesses told police they spoke with Burrows before he fled the scene and confirmed his identity.

Burrows was arrested Monday afternoon hiding in the grass on a hill above his home. He’s charged with leaving the scene of a deadly accident.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by deputies and EMS workers from Taylor and Marion Counties, and firefighters from Boothsville, Grafton and Bridgeport.
