Disaster Recovery Center moving in Harrison County

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Harrison County is moving from Bridgeport City Hall to the Harrison County Courthouse.

The new location opens Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Residents who were victims in the August flooding in Harrison County are able to speak with representatives from FEMA and the Small Business Administration at the DRC.

“Residents are encouraged to meet with FEMA staff in-person to receive assistance applying, uploading documentation, or to ask questions regarding the disaster assistance process,” a news release said.

The DRC has operated out of Bridgeport City Hall for the past two weeks.

Hours of operation at the Harrison County Courthouse will be Monday through Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The DRC will not be open on election day.

President Donald Trump declared a federal disaster declaration for Harrison, Kanawha and Fayette counties following the Aug. 14-18 flooding. The deadline to apply for assistance is Dec. 7.

In addition to the DRC option, victims can apply with FEMA by using the FEMA app, calling 1-800-621-FEMA or by registering online at disasterassistance.gov.
